Last updated: September 2026

This privacy policy explains how Taxkey Insights Limited ("Taxkey", "we", "us", "our"), registered in Ireland (CRO No. 466060), registered office Moone, Athy, Co. Kildare, R14 NH31, collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit, register for, or purchase content on Taxkey Navigator (taxkeyinsights.thinkific.com), in line with Irish and EU data protection law (GDPR).

1. Data we collect

When you register for or purchase a Navigator topic, we (directly, or via Thinkific as our platform provider) collect:

  • account details: name, email address, password;

  • purchase details: topic(s) purchased, order value, transaction date;

  • payment details: processed directly by Thinkific and its payment processors — Taxkey does not receive or store your full card details;

  • usage data: login activity, video/course progress, and similar platform analytics generated through Thinkific.

2. Why we process your data

  • to create and administer your account and provide access to purchased content — legal basis: performance of a contract with you;

  • to process payment and handle billing queries, refunds or disputes — legal basis: performance of a contract, and compliance with legal/accounting obligations;

  • to respond to support queries you send us — legal basis: legitimate interest in providing customer support;

  • to send you service-related communications (e.g. confirming purchases, notifying you of content updates) — legal basis: performance of a contract;

  • to send you marketing communications about Taxkey and Navigator, where you have opted in — legal basis: consent, which you may withdraw at any time;

  • to understand how Navigator is used, so we can improve it — legal basis: legitimate interest.

3. Who we share data with

  • Thinkific, as the platform on which Navigator is hosted, and its payment processors, to enable account access, content delivery and payment;

  • IT and cloud storage providers who support our systems;

  • professional advisers or regulators, where we are legally required to share information.

We do not sell your personal data. We only share personal data with third parties as set out above, or where we have a legal or professional duty to do so.

4. International transfers

Some of our service providers, including Thinkific, may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this happens, we require appropriate safeguards to be in place (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure your data receives an equivalent level of protection.

5. Retention

We retain account and purchase records for as long as your account is active, and for a further period afterwards as required for accounting, tax and legal purposes (normally 7 years, in line with our other retention practices as a tax firm). You may ask us to delete data we are not legally required to retain — see your rights below.

6. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures (including access controls and encryption) to protect your personal data, both directly and through our reliance on Thinkific's platform security. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted online.

7. Cookies and analytics

Thinkific, as our course platform, uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your login, and gather anonymised usage analytics. Details of Thinkific's own cookie practices are available in Thinkific's privacy policy.

8. Children

Navigator is not directed at, or intended for use by, children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 without parental consent.

9. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to: access a copy of the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data (subject to our legal retention obligations); restrict or object to certain processing; request data portability; and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
